Income-Eligible Multi-Family

KCP&L is working with eligible properties to save energy and resources.

Exterior of brick apartment buildingProperties that supply housing to income-eligible tenants can now receive incentives to make pre-approved, customized energy efficient improvements to their property. Properties may also be able to receive free energy-efficient products—installed at no cost. This helps reduce energy usage and increase comfort for residents—and saves them money.

By collaborating with property owners and managers of income-eligible multi-family housing, we’re improving properties and promoting energy efficient practices throughout our community. Reduced energy usage means lower bills and increased comfort for tenants.
Custom Incentive Rebates

How it works

We offer both Custom Incentives and Direct Install rebates. To participate in either program, the property must meet the following requirements:

  • Electrical service provided by KCP&L
  • Missouri location
  • Subsidized housing (or at least 50% residents at or below 200% federal poverty limit)

To participate in the Custom Incentive program, including Common Area Lighting:

  • Download application or call 816-772-1001.
  • Determine energy conservation measures for your property. Common measures include air conditioners, insulation, thermostats and air sealing.
  • Free professional services may be available to help you identify energy conservation measures and associated savings.
  • Review program terms and conditions in the application.
